Pathways Project

 

The aim of Pathways is to create a new SEMH Provision within Lambeth making it the only one of its kind within Lambeth. There is a number of young people living within Lambeth that are suffering from various mental health issues and personal barriers that have affected their ability to follow the rules of sociality and gain an education. Pathways will be a specialised provision that will cater form these young people have encourage them to conform to socialise rules and gain skills, qualifications in a safe structured environment.

Pathways will deal with social, emotional and mental health that involves a wide range of SEN. It can include children and young people with emotional difficulties, conduct disorders, hyperkinetic disorders, including attention deficit disorder or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD). Oppositional defiance disorder (ODD) for example. Some childrenand young people’s SEMH difficulties may be less obvious, for example, those with anxiety problems, those who are withdrawn, those who are selectively mute, those who self-harm, have school phobia or depression.

Staff and students

To start off with, the provision will hold 4 students that are currently students at Park Campus. Students will be selected via stage rather than age. Key stage 3-4. All student will be required to wear a basic affordable school uniform. The main focus for staff is to build positive relationships with the students, improve their social skills, improve self-awareness and confidence, behaviour and wellbeing.

Total number of students will be 16 (each student will have a key worker)

  • 2 Teachers
  • 1 HLTA
  • 2 Therapist
  • 2 TA’s

Curriculum topics

There will be a chance to complete either: GCSE, functional Skill and Asdan qualifications, ABC’s.The students will be assessed to determine which level their needs suits.
Maths, English, I.T, D.T, P.E (GCSE or functional Skill)

Vocational Courses

Animal, Engineering, Constructions, Princess Trust, fitness Instructor, Motor Vehicle, Army Training,etc...
